When it was announced for Nintendo Switch, based on the multiplayer-only stuff that we saw for a game that was a sequel to a multiplayer-only shooter, a lot of us assumed that Splatoon 2 was more special edition than proper sequel. Well, thanks to a new trailer showcasing the game's single-player campaign we can probably put that idea to bed. Splatoon 2 is every bit a fully formed sequel, and a fantastic looking one at that.

It looks like a lot of fun, like Super Mario Sunshine meets Sonic... and several thousands of litres of brightly coloured paint.

Glad to hear that. I really liked the single player in the first Splatoon. The single player campaign boss battle was the best part of the game.
